Say "Yes" Today

Kathy Armistead

Hello to October and a new face in the LifeLink® Faces of Transplantation Project. Meet Kathy Armistead.

Feeney Armistead was a lifelong athlete and University of Georgia Bulldogs fan known for his energy, laughter, and passion. Unexpectedly, Feeney’s life was cut short at only 33 years old when he passed away from a heart attack.

Feeney’s mother, Kathy, was always a strong advocate for organ donation and had long instilled her beliefs in her family. As a result, it was no surprise that Feeney had said yes to organ, eye, and tissue donation when getting his driver’s license. For Kathy, Feeney’s "yes" brought an immense sense of closure and relief, and she did not hesitate to support his decision.

Feeney saved and healed many lives, including a young soccer player who had been injured, giving him a second chance at pursuing his dreams. In honor of her son’s legacy, Kathy launched the Feeney Legacy Project (FLP), a powerful initiative to raise awareness about the importance of calling 9-1-1 during emergencies, teaching hands-only CPR, and spreading knowledge of the Good Samaritan and 9-1-1 Amnesty Laws. Her message is simple: “Be someone’s second chance.” Through his selfless decision to register as a donor, and the Feeney Legacy Project, Feeney’s story continues.

When you become an organ, eye and tissue donation, your story continues. Register your decision today!
