Rena Lozette Patterson was born on 24 July 1961 to the union of the late Louise Dundy and Joseph Patterson. She was baptized at an early age. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Partner, Sister, Aunt and Friend who went to her eternal home on 9 November 2020.
Rena had an undeniable love for vehicles. She followed her childhood passion by joining the United States Army as a (MOS 63B) Light Wheel Vehicle Mechanic. When she left the Army, she started a career with the Department of Defense as a Mortuary Affairs Officer. She was offered a rewarding opportunity to work at the Department of Justice as a Veteran’s Program Officer. She enjoyed fishing, fixing cars, tinkering, traveling, exploring the outdoors, crafts; but most of all, she enjoyed music and beating you at any sport and watching her beloved Football Team – Geaux Saints!
She is survived by her Partner, Bettie F. Bowles; three children, Damion Thompson, Dana Thompson, Sammy Garrett and his wife Grace; three Sisters, Ella Mary Lemon and her husband George, Patsy Edwards, Greta Patterson, one brother Michael Patterson; 9 Grandchildren, Tradayah, Damiyon, A’nya, Darrel, Drake, Daniel, Devin, Elijah and Elizabeth; one Great- Grandson, Marcus; 3 God Children, Jabari, Amber and Ashley; a plethora of nieces and nephews; and a host of loving family members and friends to cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Louise Dundy; her father, Joseph Patterson, Sisters Linda Manogin, Joe Edna Robinson; brothers Larry Patterson and Charles Patterson.
