Hey Kiddo,

No parent should ever have to bury her child. Boy was I ever right. 
Living life without your smile and hearing you say love you mom is even harder. You were my smile. You are my greatest blessing, my greatest love. But I will manage somehow. I will honor that. I will manage to laugh someday. The overwhelming love and support I received from your step dad, brothers, sister, your friends, their respective families and even strangers is helping me through these times. I felt your hugs from every friend of yours who came up to me. And our family is stronger because of you. This is entirely your doing.

Since I introduced you to the world back, September 18th 1996, I’ve had the privilege of being your mom.  At 3:37pm September 14, 2017 I felt a soul shattering sadness when your heavenly spirit took flight, but i am was ever so thankful to have been with you.  

Son, Majesty, Magic, Laylo, Young Majek, brother, friend, dad whatever the name we called you is a name that will be spoken amongst us as time moves on.

Love…you gave freely and openly to anyone willing to be your friend. And how you loved unconditionally — both family and friends.
You loved me even as I faltered, disappointed, nagged — and for that I am eternally grateful. Forever blessed.  But remaining silent as I struggle to wrap my head around what just happened does you a great disservice. And you don’t deserve that.  So I want everyone to know what a perfect son you were. Beyond the great big smile was a great big heart whose capacity to love is greater than
any bullet. You lived life to the fullest and loved deeply. This legacy will be carried on by the countless many you left behind, the countless many whose lives are forever changed because of you. No person can ever take that away. Not. Ever.

Your one single ripple caused a tidal wave.  Not only has your ripple touched all of these folks, your tidal wave has given a man new eyes, gave that person a way to take that next breath, one person the ability to process their blood and best of all someone has your loving heart.
