The Perfect Gift: The African American Organ Transplantation Project

The Perfect Gift is a photography exhibit highlighting African-American organ transplant recipients, living organ donors and the families of deceased organ donors. The series of black and white portraits were taken by visual storyteller Johnny Crawford in association with LifeLink Foundation, Inc.

 

  • Mission

    The mission of the project is to heighten awareness within the African-American community, while providing education about organ, eye and tissue donation.

  • Vision

    The vision of the African American Organ Transplantation Project is to increase the number of African-American organ and tissue donors in Georgia. Currently, there are over 5,000 men, women and children awaiting lifesaving organ transplants in the state of Georgia and 63% of those individuals are African American.

  • Exhibit Locations

    Now showing at Albany State University, Fine Arts Center, located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705, The exhibit will run now through Sunday, October 10.
