LifeLink® Representatives To Participate in 2018 International Congress of The Transplantation Society

June 22, 2018 - (Tampa, FL) - Several LifeLink staff members, including Ruth Duncan Bell, M.P.A., and Senior Vice President of Public Affairs for LifeLink Foundation, Inc. were selected to present oral presentations at the upcoming 27th International Congress of The Transplantation Society from June 30 to July 5, 2018 at IFEMA – Feria de Madrid in Madrid, Spain. The program for this world-class event will cover a diverse array of topics, ranging from cutting-edge science to the latest controversies in ethics and public policy. Issues relevant to developing transplant programs, organ donation, and procurement will be highlighted.  The Congress typically has 4,000 participants representing 85 countries.


Bell will present “Success of a Multicultural Donation Education Program to increase African American Organ Donation in a Donor Service Area with a High African American Population.”  She will highlight best practices which led to successful organ donation education and registration programs targeted at the African American community throughout the LifeLink of Georgia service area.


Bell is an active member of Athena Society, Tampa Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Tampa Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, USF Black Leadership Network and USF Women in Leadership & Philanthropy, and several professional organizations related to organ and tissue donation and transplantation.
