Say "Yes" Today

LifeLink® Foundation Honors the Legacy of Organ, Eye, and Tissue Donation This National Donate Life Month

Each year in April, LifeLink proudly celebrates Donate Life Month, a national observance created by Donate Life America to raise awareness about the critical need for organ, eye and tissue donation. With roughly 104,000 people across the country waiting for a lifesaving transplant, this month serves as an important reminder of the generosity of those who have given the gift of life. It’s also an opportunity to honor donors and their families, whose selflessness continues to inspire hope for patients in need.

This year’s theme, "Let Life Sing," draws inspiration from the return of spring and the songs of birds, symbols of new beginnings and hope. Just as birds fill the sky with their melodies, every donor’s gift rings out across communities, offering hope and a second chance at life. LifeLInk will showcase this theme and its artwork in various campaigns, spreading the lifesaving message of donation across hospitals, driver’s license offices, and throughout local communities.

Throughout Donate Life Month, everyone is invited to learn more about the lifesaving impact of organ, eye, and tissue donation through educational programs LifeLink offers. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get involved and make a difference by registeringas an organ and tissue donor. Many cities and counties within the LifeLink service area will issue proclamations declaring April as Donate Life Month, further highlighting the importance of coming together to support this cause.

For the thousands of individuals waiting for a lifesaving transplant, organ donation offers the promise of a second chance. Regardless of age or medical history, anyone can register to become a donor, and the impact is profound. A single donor has the potential to save up to eight lives through organ donation and improve up to 75 more through tissue donation. Each decision to donate creates a ripple effect, leaving a legacy of hope that extends far beyond a single act, creating an infinite cycle of generosity and transformation.
