April is National Donate Life Month!

April is National Donate Life Month and it’s time to celebrate! Throughout this month we honor the  organ and tissue donors, and celebrate the tens of thousands of lives saved through organ transplantation. In 2017, more than 34,000 individuals received the lifesaving gift of an organ transplant across the U.S. While we celebrate, we must still call attention though to the fact that nearly 115,000 individuals are still waiting for the gift of life – an organ transplant. The need for more registered organ and tissue donors is still great and our job is not done. Be on the lookout for us, along with our volunteers, this month at community events, health fairs, civic group presentations, Donate Life Month proclamation presentations at local government meetings and more. You can help aid the effort by contacting us if you know of a public education opportunity in your area at (800) 262-5775 or via email at [email protected]. Also, if you have not already done so, give consideration to registering as an organ, eye and tissue donor at www.DonateLife.net. Here’s to a great Donate Life Month ahead and thanks for your support of the Donate Life mission.
