To look at Re’Ana today you wouldn’t know the serious medical challenges she overcame in her short 13 years of life. After a friendly childhood game of chase caused Re’Ana to break her ankle, the doctors realized there was more happening in her tiny body – Osteosarcoma, bone cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer spread during the cancer treatment and her leg had to be amputated. Two months after completing chemotherapy treatment, she learned it had damaged her heart and she would need a transplant. Today, Re’Ana is thriving with her new heart, playing sports and sharing her story through public speaking. “I would like to thank my donor family for a second opportunity at life.
